Honors Program Courses for Liberal Arts Majors

 

Students may participate in the Honors Program in two ways:

  1. They may enroll in individual Honors courses (Honors Participation) if they meet the minimum requirements.

  2. Students may also choose to be involved in the comprehensive program (Honors Concentration) following the curriculum below, and completing a minimum of 20-22 Honors credits (7 Honors courses). 

 

For Liberal Arts: Social Science and Humanities (Common Core):

  • 3 credits of Honors English - Writing through Literature (ENG 102). 

  • 3 credits of Honors Humanities - Introduction to Philosophy (HUP 102) OR Ethics & Moral Issues (HUP 104). 

  • 6 credits of Honors Social Science - Cultural Anthropology (SSA101) OR Introduction to Macroeconomics (SSE104) AND Themes in American History since 1865 (SSH 102).

  • 3 credits of Honors ELA - Introduction to Language (ELL 101).

 

 

For Liberal Arts: Mathematics and Science (Common Core):

  • 3 credits of Honors English - Writing through Literature (ENG 102).

  • 6 credits of Honors Social Science - Cultural Anthropology (SSA 101) OR Intro to Macroeconomics (SSE104) AND Themes in American History since 1865 (SSH 102).

  • 6 credits of Honors Math - Pre Calculus (MAT 200) and Calculus (MAT 201). 

  • 9 credits of Honors Science - Principles of Biology (SCB 115), Fundamentals of Biology II (SCB 202), and Fundamentals of Chemistry I (SCC 201).
